WITH THE EARTH: Art and the Environment: An ongoing series of exhibitions and events presenting artists who integrate environmental concerns with the practice of cutting edge art. This project began in 1990 after the Exxon Valdez oil spill on the Alaskan Coast. Today global warming and climate change are being experienced everywhere and many artists are choosing to focus their work on our urgent need for truly sustainable technologies and a lifestyle that respects the environment. The goal of the series is to encourage debate and exchange of ideas on both local and global issues via the unique viewpoint that art can provide.
