Program Details
The Visiting Artist program hosts individual and small group shows 5 or 6 times per year for artists who are not Artist Members of GRO. The Visiting Artist Program is an important way that GRO shares its exhibition space with artists not affiliated with the organization.
The Project Space is the gallery within GRO primarily dedicated to shows by Visiting Artists. See the gallery floorplan.
Visiting Artist exhibitions occupy a major place in the gallery’s yearly exhibition schedule and run concurrently with GRO artist member exhibitions in the Center and Annex Galleries.
Who may apply: We are seeking artists whose work is engaged with these issues of public concern:
- The environmental crisis: humanity’s effect on the planet
- Human rights (social justice), including anti-racism, and immigration
GRO embraces diversity, equity access and inclusion. Artists from historically underrepresented groups are encouraged to apply.
Artists are also invited to apply to curate a small group exhibition addressing one or more of these topics.
