Gallery Route One is a nonprofit, artist-run, community based organization, providing professional exhibition space for visual artists. This is GRO’s 25th annual juried show. Kenneth Baker was our first Juror and we are honored to have him return to celebrate our 25th January Juried Show.

Exhibition Dates:
January 15th thru February 14th, 2010

Opening Reception:
Sunday, January 17th, 2010, 3–5 pm

Entry Deadline:
Wednesday, Nov. 13th, 2009
Entry is by email only

Awards:
$250 for Best of Show
3 non-cash Awards of Merit

Eligibility:
Open to Northern California artists who are able to hand-deliver artwork. No entries by mail or delivery service. If you are not able to hand deliver your artwork on the dates listed, please do not apply.

Media:
All media EXCEPT Video, Crafts, Jewelry.

Size:
Artwork not to exceed 5′ in any dimension.

Entries:
Maximum of 4 entries per Artist. 1 image per artwork entry for 2D pieces. 1–2 images per artwork for 3D pieces.

Note: you do not need to set up an account in order to use Paypal; you may use it to make a one time payment with a credit card.

Jurying Process:
Jurying will be done in two stages. Stage 1 will be by digital image. At the request of the juror, all initially selected artwork must be brought to GRO for final selection on Sunday, Jan. 10, 2010, from 2 to 5 pm. Artists whose work has not been selected will be requested to pick up their work no later than Thursday, January 14, 2010. Accepted work will remain at GRO for the exhibition.

Notification:
Notice of acceptance or exclusion will be sent via email by December 15th.
Incomplete email applications, or images that do not follow the listed guidelines will not be accepted.

Delivery of Artwork:
Provisionally accepted artwork must be hand delivered to GRO on Sunday, January 10th, 2010 between 2–5pm …. no exceptions. Please mark this date on your calendar now so that you are available to deliver your artwork .
-Artwork must be clean, framed, wired & ready to hang or placed on a base. Paint & other materials must be dry.
-LABEL each artwork with your Name, Phone #, Title of Work, Medium, and Price (or, NFS).

Insurance:
GRO does not offer insurance to cover your artwork. If you require insurance for your piece, feel free to pursue it on your own.

Sales:
Unless marked NFS, work will be for sale at the price indicated by the artist upon submission of entry, plus tax. Gallery Route One’s commission is 45%. Once a piece is ACCEPTED into this exhibit, sale of that piece is subject to GRO’s Commission until the end of the exhibit.

Pick UP of Unsold Artwork:
All unsold artwork MUST be picked up Sunday, February 14th, 2010 between 3 to 5pm. Since GRO has no storage facility for artwork, works not retrieved on this date will be charged $5 per day for storage. No art will be returned by mail. Art will not be released before the exhibit ends or before 3 pm on February 14th, 2010.

How to prepare your email application:
1. First, pay your entry fee using pay pal button below
Be sure to record the receipt number to include with your emailed submission.

2. Prepare your Images
Images must be in jpeg format and 1 to 2 megabytes in size (no larger than 2 mb).
Name each image submitted as follows:
For 2D artwork:

3. Create an email message
The body of your email should include:
- Your full Name; email address; street address with zip code; phone number.
- A list of images for all submitted artwork (must be completed for each piece)

c) dimensions (HxWxD)
d) price (or NFS)
- Receipt number from your Paypal transaction.

4. Attach your images to the email and send to:
