Vi©kisaVickisa depicts her own life in her colorful, intensely packed pieces. As in the work of Frida Kahlo and many other artists, whatever is going on at the time ends up in her artwork. Her pieces reflect many moods, from great happiness to deep sadness to quirky happenings. She uses many media including acrylics, watercolor on silk, gold leaf and collage. She also creates unique hand made fold out books of events and life experiences created on scene.
In August 2007 she got a rescue puppy and ever since she has been trying to figure out what Rosebud is thinking. In her September 2008 show “I love My Dog and Other Tales.” Rosebud has served as the model. Vickisa often uses her work as a conjuring process and the pieces she did about dogs before she actually found Rosebud resemble her remarkably.
