For many years my art dealt metaphorically with the human figure in its relationship to its environment (both in nature and man made). After moving to Tomales Bay I have been given an added awareness and dimension of our influence on this planet. The "Gun Club" series was started at that time. The name is only symbolic of our direct and indirect devastation to this earth.

In the past I had strived to project that serenity could be found in mans relationship to man and the environment. The present work reflects the opposite...mans inability to seek serenity in relationship to our environment.

I am what I do. I have always wanted to change or make new forms. It is what I do. I don't remember not doing that. It is what centers me. It gives me peace and energy.

The results are a part of what I know of the world and what I believe should be changed...but they are only the visual part. Although the results are what I am, I am more.
