Realmente me gustó mucho el proyecto. Es muy importante tener en cuenta a los Latinos como parte del pueblo. En el primer proyecto "Lejos del Hogar", sentía timidez de tomar fotos en frente de la gente. Esta vez no me dió pena, quizá porque andabamos trabajando en grupo. También, la última vez tomamos fotos alrededor de nuestros hogares. Esta vez las fotos fueron en eventos o alrededor del pueblo. Ahora miramos y pensamos en fotos todo el tiempo. LLevamos la cámara a todos lados!
Betty Macias Artist Statement: I really liked the project. It is important that you take the Latinos as part of this town. In the first project I was very shy taking pictures in front of people. This time I was much less shy partly because we worked together in a group. Also, last time we took more domestic pictures. This time we took pictures at events and in the town. Now we are looking and thinking about photos all the time. We have to bring the camera everywhere!
We believe that art is an intellectual and spiritual necessity
that belongs in every community. Our purpose is to provide
a professional exhibition space for artwork and a program
that addresses the cultural, political, and environmental
concerns of our rural community and the greater Bay Area.
